What works without internet
- Cash, UPI and card bills, with the right GST on every line, and one bill split across them
- The UPI QR for the exact amount, on screen at checkout
- Printing receipts and KOTs. A receipt printed offline says it is waiting to sync, and the bill gets its invoice number once it does
- Automatic offers you've set up, such as a happy hour
- Adding and editing customers, taking khata repayments and wallet top-ups
- Cash paid in or out of the drawer
What waits for the connection
- Paying from a customer's wallet or khata, and coupon codes, because the balance has to be checked against the latest one. Offline, the bill rings up without them
- Returns, and cancelling a bill
- The day-end cash count and close
- Stock adjustments and counts, goods received, supplier payments and transfers
- Changing the menu, prices, tables or a customer's credit limit
How it works
Your menu, prices, offers, customers, tax settings and tables are kept on the device, so the till never needs the internet to look anything up. Each bill waits in a queue on the device and is sent when the connection returns, and the Sync page shows anything not sent yet.
Questions
What if the device is switched off before it syncs?
The bills stay on the device and are sent the next time someone signs in with a connection. Signing out keeps them too. Clearing the browser's data does not, so don't clear it while bills are waiting.
Do I need a separate offline app?
No. It's the same app, and it notices when the connection drops and comes back. A device has to sign in once while online before it can bill offline.
Does stock come off for bills made offline?
Yes, once they sync. Until then the stock count on that device does not include them.
