Khata for your regulars, without the notebook

Each customer gets a khata with a credit limit you set and a prepaid wallet. The till won't put a sale on khata past the limit, repayments can be taken even when the internet is down, and a dues reminder goes out on WhatsApp in one tap.

Khata (credit)

  • A credit limit per customer, checked by the till and again by the server before a sale goes on khata. A limit of zero means no credit
  • Opening balances, for customers you are moving from a notebook
  • A list of who owes what, and repayments taken at the counter, even offline
  • The receipt prints a UPI QR for what the customer owes, when your UPI ID is set
  • Changing a limit is a permission, so you choose which roles may do it

Prepaid wallet

  • Customers top up a wallet and pay from it later
  • Change can go into the wallet instead of coins
  • Money paid in clears any khata dues first

Statements and reminders

  • A customer's statement as a PDF or an Excel file, shared from your phone to WhatsApp or anywhere else
  • A dues reminder in one tap: a WhatsApp message from your own number, with a UPI link to pay when your UPI ID is set
  • Bills sent to customers on WhatsApp as a link, a picture or a PDF

Customers belong to the whole business, so a regular is the same customer at every outlet.

What it doesn't do

  • Paying from khata or the wallet needs a connection, so the balance is checked against the latest one
  • Reminders are not sent automatically: nothing goes out until someone presses send
  • There are no loyalty points
